Mortgage Loan Officer

Academy Mortgage Corporation is seeking a Loan Officer to join a dynamic team in Reading, MA. Role

The Loan Officer will market Academy Mortgage Corporations' mortgage products to referral sources and consumers. Examines, evaluates, and recommends approval of customer loan applications.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Actively markets the company's mortgage lending program to companies and individuals within the real estate community.
Ensures all compliance requirements, including company policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations, are met.
Reviews and evaluates information on mortgage loan documents to determine if borrower and property meet company and regulatory standards. Recommends loan application for approval or rejection, or requests additional information. Establishes terms and conditions of an approved loan and reviews with customer.
Ensures that company customer service standards are met.

Requirements

Two to four years similar industry experience
Must be actively and appropriately licensed as a loan officer and meet federal, state, and corporate requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; An Associates' degree is preferred
Interpersonal Skills:
Courtesy, customer service, and tact are essential elements of the job
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation
Basic word processing and computer skills are required
Requires effective communication with customers and/or other employees using common telecommunications equipment and computer equipment
Must be able to read, examine, and organize documents
May require the ability to sit, stand, and walk around for extended periods of time
May also require the ability to lift up to 25 pounds
The ability to multitask and focus in this environment is essential
As a Loan Officer with Academy Mortgage Corporation you would be required to possess your National Mortgage Licensing & Registry (NMLS) registration under the SAFE Act of 2008.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
